 In 2020, her husband was diagnosed with leukemia. To support their family, Amanda became a <strong>travel nurse,</strong> working long hours with <strong>no short-term disability</strong>. She has been the sole provider ever since.

 In June 2026, Amanda received devastating news: <strong>stage 3 rectal cancer</strong>. She is determined to get surgery at <strong>MD Anderson Cancer Center</strong> hoping to avoid a permanent ileostomy.

 Because MD Anderson is out-of-network for her insurance, the costs for surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, travel, and lodging will be significant, especially while she can’t work.

 Even now, Amanda is already searching for work-from-home jobs. That’s just who she is.
