Alyssa's Free Dental Care Mission in Guatemala!
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Alyssa Shemtov, and my goal in life is to help people.
I’m a third-year student at Northeastern University, majoring in health science with minors in cell and molecular biology and nutrition, on my way to dental school. For me, dentistry is more than just "fixing teeth"—it's about creating happier, healthier lives through confident smiles.
This coming March, I have the privilege to put my skills to work in a life-changing way. I’ll be traveling to Panimacoc, Tecpan, Department of Chimaltenango, Guatemala, with Northeastern University Global Dental Brigades to provide free dental care to people who undeniably need it. Currently in Guatemala, there is 1 dentist for every 100,000 people, demonstrating a strong need for our help. As a licensed dental assistant, I’m excited to help those who have limited access to dental care—something many of us take for granted.
But I need your help to make this project possible. I am fundraising to cover the costs of medical supplies, facilities, and travel. With your generous donation, we can bring smiles and relief to those in need, like the child in this photo, who received free dental care on last years brigade.
By supporting this cause, you’re part of a larger movement that brings essential care to communities in need. Every dollar brings us closer to improving someone’s life.
Thank you so much for your time and consideration!
