Alycia is a fighter. She loves her kids more than anything and would do anything for them. As a pediatrics nurse, she has always been a natural caretaker—both at work and at home. Her four children are bright, kind, and emotionally mature beyond their years. They are creative, smart, and, most importantly, they love their mom deeply.
Alycia’s journey has been marked by unimaginable loss and hardship. While pregnant with her fifth child, her husband passed away. A few months after giving birth, her newborn tragically passed away as well. The weight of this grief, combined with the demands of caring for four children, as well as a traumatic incident at work, led to a relapse of Alycia’s eating disorder. She took FMLA and admitted herself into an in-patient care facility, and she continues to receive outpatient support as she works toward recovery. She is currently working nights on weekends, and this schedule is also taking its toll. Throughout all of this, her family has rallied to help, but resources are being exhausted, and Alycia still faces a difficult road ahead.
This fundraiser is specifically meant to help cover the cost of a full or part-time nanny. Having someone to help with cooking, cleaning, and taking the kids to school activities will allow Alycia to focus on her health and recovery, giving her children the best chance at stability and happiness. Alycia has been through more than most can imagine and is giving everything she has to her children. She is struggling to stay healthy, but her kids need their mom more than anything. Your support will help a devoted mother get healthy so she can continue caring for her children. Any contribution, big or small, will make a real difference for this family.
