Support Alondra's Battle Against Cancer

Hello, everyone.

I’m reaching out to ask for your support for my sister Alondra Ruelas-Mendoza and our family. She has recently been diagnosed with embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer that predominantly affects children. It is almost never seen in young women. Alondra is 18 years old.

Our hearts were shattered at the realization of this diagnosis.

Facing this diagnosis will be incredibly difficult, both emotionally and financially. Costs can and have quickly become overwhelming. We are here to ask

for your help.

As I’ve stated this form of cancer is rare and doctors in charge of the case have informed us we will have to move to Seattle for a minimum of half a year to be treated using chemo therapy. She has already forgone a surgery that removed the tumor. What's left now is a long journey and battle with chemo therapy. My mother will not be able to work during this time to fully take care of my sister.

Your generous donations will go directly towards covering medical expenses, including treatments, medications, shelter, and food. Our home is Wenatchee, but we will have to adopt the city of Seattle for the time being. Your contribution, no matter the size, will be greatly appreciated.

Hola a todos. Me acerco para pedirles su apoyo para mi hermana Alondra Ruelas-Mendoza y nuestra familia.

Recientemente le han diagnosticado rabdomiosarcoma embrionario, una forma rara y agresiva de cáncer que afecta predominantemente a los niños. Casi nunca se ve en mujeres jóvenes. Alondra tiene 18 años.

Nuestros corazones quedaron destrozados al darnos cuenta de este diagnóstico. Afrontar este diagnóstico será increíblemente difícil, tanto emocional como económicamente. Los costos pueden volverse abrumadores, y lo han hecho rápidamente. Estamos aquí para preguntar por su ayuda.

Como he dicho, esta forma de cáncer es poco común y los médicos a cargo del caso nos han informado que tendremos que mudarnos a Seattle por un mínimo de medio año para recibir tratamiento con quimioterapia.

Ella ya tubo una cirugía que le extirpó el tumor. Lo que queda ahora es un largo viaje y una batalla con la quimioterapia. Mi madre no podrá trabajar durante este tiempo para cuidar completamente de mi hermana.
