A Guardian Angel and a Community's Care: Help Alan Ross Get Back on the Road
Last night, our neighbor Alan Ross lost both of his vehicles when a drunk driver tore through four cars on Fairway Street. The driver, who tried to flee, was thankfully apprehended by the police. While we are all shaken, the story behind this tragedy is one of an incredible loss and, perhaps, a miraculous save.
Just this past Tuesday, Alan’s beloved grandmother passed away. In her will, she left her SUV to him—the same SUV they used to drive everywhere together. As fate would have it, this cherished gift was among the cars destroyed in the accident.
Alan believes his grandmother became his guardian angel that night. He's usually outside sitting in his car, but for some unknown reason, he wasn't. The drunk driver first struck the SUV, which took the brunt of the impact, saving his smaller car from being hit head-on. Alan says it’s as if his grandmother's final gift was to protect him one last time.
The accident has left Alan with nothing to his name. To add to the difficulty, his insurance coverage had lapsed. He is a good neighbor and a valued member of our community, and we can’t let him face this alone.
We want to rally together to help Alan get a down payment for a new car. Let's show him that Brookside is a community that cares and is here to support him through this devastating time. Every donation, no matter the size, will bring him one step closer to getting back on the road and rebuilding his life. Please consider donating and sharing this story.
Let's turn this tragedy into a testament to community and compassion.
