Hi, my family and I decided to start this GoFundMe for our 15-month-old daughter, Alita. Alita has recently been diagnosed with RSV and bacterial pneumonia. This pneumonia seeped into her bloodstream, causing her to have a bacterial infection in her blood and causing her to become septic. She was taken to the ER on New Year's Eve, where she was then admitted into the hospital and taken to the PICU, where she still currently resides. Her left lung is severely ill. It has filled up with fluid, needing two procedures done to insert two chest tubes. Due to these procedures, she's been placed on a ventilator and has now been on it for about 10-13 days. Over time in the hospital, her lung got a hole allowing air to come in, resulting in another chest tube being placed where the hole is. Overall, she has had three procedures now. She has had a CAT scan done and needs an X-ray done every single day. She needs speech, physical and occupational therapy to relearn how to do everyday functions. We were told it will take months for her left lung to heal.

My husband and I take turns being in the hospital day and night for her, resulting in us missing work. Our family, Alita's brothers and sister, are emotionally affected by this change. We know what the risks are and pray every day that she gets better. We would use this money to help pay for bills and any medical necessities Alita will need once she is out of the hospital to keep her comfortable and safe at home.
