Support Alison's Family Through Court Proceedings

I have had the honor of being colleagues and dear friends with Alison for the last four years. I learned about the story of her mother, Lonene Rogers, and of her disappearance, which was decades long. It was astounding to see what she was accomplishing day after day to bring awareness to her mother's case so it could finally be solved, once and for all. She works a full-time job, has three very active children, and works relentlessly to find her mother every single day. Often, I have wondered, beyond moral support, how I could assist Alison in her efforts. Alison is the type of person whose tenacity supports her efforts and is reluctant to receive much, other than prayers and well wishes.

In the past two weeks, Alison has received what she was after; there was a confession in her mother's disappearance and it was revealed that she was strangled by the one person who should have been safe: her husband, Alison's biological father, who repeatedly stated his innocence, time after time, for 45 years. Until two weeks ago. This means that a court process has begun and it will require much travel and hotel costs, on a family that has been burdened far too long. Alison mentioned that she was concerned about the financial burden that the court appearances and possible trial will present, not only to her but to Lonene's sister and Alison's brother.

It breaks my heart to know that after all this time and energy spent to find the truth, Alison now has the financial burden attached to the travel and time away, possibly unpaid. None of the members of this family should have to make decisions about whether they can be a part of the proceedings due to finances; and this is where we can step in and make a difference for the people who truly loved Lonene.

Lonene's sister and both children now live out of state from where the proceedings will take place. Lonnie's sister Glene is a four-hour drive from Toledo, Ohio. Aaron Rogers lives in Florida and Alison Duiker lives two hours away in Cleveland, Ohio. All three of them should be able to decide if they wish to attend any and everything connected to this case. Let's support them by offering financial support to cover flights, gas, hotels, food, lost wages, and whatever else they might need. We are Lonnie's angels and we have an opportunity to make this horrible journey just a little bit easier. I hope you will donate whatever you can to help this family get through this horrific time, and remind them that they are never alone.
