Help Me Bring My Babies Home
Hi, my name is Alicia Fonseca, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart and a desperate plea as a mother.
For almost 11 months now, my children have been living with their father in Iowa. This was never meant to be permanent — it was supposed to be temporary so I could focus on school and better our future. We had co-parented peacefully for over two and a half years, and I’ve always been the main provider throughout our 14 years together.
I made the incredibly hard decision to allow him to take care of them this past school year, trusting that we were on the same page and that I could count on his support without involving the courts. I didn’t want to burden my parents, even though they have always stood by me and my children whenever the father of my kids would “choose or felt like being a father” I just wanted him to experience a portion of what I’ve carried for years — the love, the labor, the responsibility.
But now, it’s all backfiring on me.
Recently, I started a new relationship, and since then, things have drastically changed. He is now refusing to return our children. I drove all the way to Iowa, as we had agreed he would hand them back to me — but when I arrived, he wouldn’t even let me see them. No warning, no conversation, just complete shutout.
Now I’m being forced into a legal battle I never wanted. I’m heartbroken, scared, and running out of options. The lawyers I’ve spoken to in Iowa are asking for $9,000 or more just to get started. That’s not a number I can reach alone.
I’m not asking for sympathy — I’m asking for help. Any amount, big or small, will go toward legal representation so I can fight to bring my babies home where they belong. Where they are loved, safe, and surrounded by the family that’s always been there for them.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading, sharing, donating, and praying for my children and me. I just want to hold them again. I just want them home.
With love,
Alicia Fonseca
