Community support to help Grinding Grounds get Grinding Stockton again.

Hello, my name is Alicia Gonzales, better known as Licha to most, founder/ Operator of Grinding Grounds. I started GG in 2019 and endured business during the lockdown of COVID-19. Followed by the loss of my sole parent, my dad. I managed to open up my Lodi storefront in 2021 against all odds. This is where things started to fall apart—on the outside, everything looked like it was rising beautifully. However, behind the scenes, everything was falling apart from battling with the city of Lodi and losing my Abuela, to placing my trailer at a halt to build the Lodi location, hoping it would be as successful and loved as Stockton was, but it was not the case. I decided to close Lodi in September 2024. I was relieved and happy to be back, grinding the streets of Stockton again. Although that wasn’t the case on 10/9/2024, I was diagnosed with stage 3 Hodgkin’s lymphoma. I was hospitalized for a month and underwent my first round of intense chemotherapy. Therefore, physically, I had to put my business on hold. I had multiple hospitalizations and underwent chemotherapy for 6 months at Stanford. I am now operating part-time due to my healing and building my strength. But unfortunately, I’ll be undergoing surgery due to the chemo side effects, which is prompting me to create this fundraiser. I will be operating limited days and hours if you could stop by for your fix. I also have a gift card promotion (CC: IG). I would love it if you could help in any way. With this, you’ll help Grinding Grounds get rolling again.
I look forward to healing and caffeinating you all and to continuing to give back to my community.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
We all live in tough times, but $1 a share or kind words go’s a long way. Your prayers have been keeping me going and I’m forever grateful for you all.

I would also like to give a big thanks to those who donated in October to my food train with Peace, Love, and Fresh Eats. You have no idea how much that helped me provide for my kids and myself even at a time where I was bed ridden. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.
