On Monday, January 5th, our family suffered an unimaginable loss.
Jason Dargis — a loving husband, family man, and dedicated truck driver — passed away unexpectedly just one week ago.
Jason worked tirelessly to provide for his family and to build a future with his wife, Alicia. One of Jason’s lifelong dreams was to become a homeowner — something he and Alicia finally achieved together. That dream meant everything to him.
Tragically, just as the new year began, Jason had to reapply for life insurance through his trucking company. During the reapplication process, information was entered incorrectly, and as a result, there will be no life insurance payout. This devastating technicality has left Alicia suddenly widowed with no financial safety net.
Alicia is now facing this heartbreaking loss while also being left with overwhelming financial responsibilities she cannot manage alone. She is now solely responsible for a $3,000 per month mortgage payment, utilities, and daily living expenses on top of now a cremation cost and a celebration of life for Jason, the love of her whole life. She is having to take on all financial responsibilities while grieving the loss of her husband. Losing this home would mean losing the very dream Jason dedicated his life to building.
This fundraiser is about honoring Jason’s life, supporting Alicia during the most painful moment of her life, and helping her keep the home that represents their shared future.
Any and all donations will be used directly for Jason’s cremation, a celebration of life to honor and remember him, food and essential living expenses, and helping Alicia pay down and stabilize the mortgage so she can remain in her home.
Alicia is not someone who would ask for help. But she has taken care of so many people, and now it is time we take care of her during the most difficult thing she will ever go through.
Every dollar helps. Every share helps.
We know times are hard for many people, and we understand that not everyone is able to donate. If you cannot give financially, please consider sharing this page — it truly makes a difference.
Jason was the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back to help someone else. Supporting Alicia now is a way to honor the man he was and the life he worked so hard to build.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, compassion, and support during this incredibly difficult time.
With gratitude,
The Dargis Family
