Hello! My name is Alice D, I'm a transgender community defense activist who is currently struggling with a traumatic brain injury, difficulty finding employment, food and housing insecurity.

On February 10, 2025 I was the victim of a brutal attack while trying to intervene in a dispute between two other parties in West Philadelphia. I was intentionally struck by a car on the sidewalk and beaten in the head repeatedly while unconscious and on the ground .

As a result of this extremely violent attack I was transported to Penn Presbyterian Hospital and needed resuscitation to bring me back to life. My head was held together with staples and I needed an ophthalmological surgeon to administer stitches to a wound close to my right eye.

Despite obviously being the victim of an horrific assault, when I woke up at the hospital I was handcuffed to the bed and was later informed that I was being charged with multiple felonies due to the primary aggressors and instigating parties of the dispute being allowed to make false and contradictory statements to the police about the nature of the encounter. Essentially they blamed the entire situation on me despite the fact that it had been an ongoing dispute that I had just recently become involved in.

Because all of this, I lost my forms of income and employment because of pending felony charges, my EBT benefits were cut off due to being unable to meet the new work requirements instituted by the Trump administration, I had to move back in with my transphobic parents who refuse to respect or acknowledge my gender identity, and most recently on top of all of this I had to hire an expensive private attorney due to being the victim of legal malpractice.
