Support Alfred’s Long Road to Recovery

Hey fam,

What a wild and precious life that we are sharing here together,

I just want to start and say how truly grateful I am to have Chris (Alfred) in my life, He is one of my dearest lifelong friends and as some of you know, my favorite cousin.

Friday evening Chris got into a car accident on his way to the gas station,

his family is still trying to put together what happened exactly.

We do know he got ejected out of the driver side window and then life flighted to the nearest hospital in Kalamazoo.

He went into respiratory failure, and they had to transfer him to Corewell Butterworth hospital in Grand Rapids. He is there now with Danielle, his mama, Danielle's mom and an incredible trauma care team.

They put him into a medically induced coma and have him on a respirator.

He is now breathing on his own, on the respirator, and they took him out of the medically induced coma and waiting for him to wake up on his own.

He has a rare thing called propofol syndrome, and they currently have him on dialysis and it is helping.

The goal today is to get him off of the ventilator and dialysis. They are waiting for some sort of communication from him first.

He is one of the strongest people I know, and I know he's gonna pull through and cracking jokes in no time. We are so incredibly grateful that he is alive, what a shitty world this would be without him.

Chris and Danielle are the kind of people who would drop everything to help someone else and now it’s our turn to be there for them.

He’s currently facing a long road to recovery, with significant medical expenses ahead. On top of that, both of them are unable to work for the foreseeable future as they focus on healing, physically and emotionally.

We kindly ask that everyone respect the family’s privacy during this incredibly difficult time. Danielle will let us know when it’s okay to visit or when Chris is ready for messages and conversations. Right now, their focus is on healing and rest, and your understanding means so much.
