My brother Alfonso went to Mexico on vacation and he was very excited to be there and see our parents' roots and where they grew up. He was amazed by everything Mexico had to offer. He had his flight scheduled for today, 7/30/24, but on 7/29/24, an incident that was just a fender bender escalated to him, my aunt, and cousin getting assaulted by the other woman in the other car.

My brother was taken into custody under false pretenses by Mexican officials due to the woman saying my brother hit her when he was just trying to break up the fight. The officials told him he was just being escorted to take his statement but ended up putting him in a holding cell, handcuffed and without being able to use his phone and was told he was being detained for 48 hours. If you know my little brother, you know he just graduated from SF State and works for the city. He is a hard worker and a good kid. He's never been in trouble with the law here in the US, his home. He is scared and just wants to get out and come home.

We as a family were not prepared for the finances needed to get a lawyer and the fees being imposed on him through the Mexican officials. We are reaching out to all of you for help so we can get him out as soon as possible.
