Support Aleyda's Battle Against Breast Cancer

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,

I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart and a plea for help. My best friend’s mother, a loving and vibrant 43-year-old woman, has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. This news has been devastating for his and my family, and we are struggling to come to terms with it.

No one expected it, and it is becoming heavy to our hearts that their family is struggling to afford her medical appointments. We don’t want to lose Aleyda. She experienced losing her mother at 2 years old to cancer and doesn’t want to repeat history with her own children. Like any mother, she loves being a mom and being here with her children. Understandably, she is more terrified than anyone else in the family. Especially after one of her twin daughters battled throat cancer in July of 2023 and their savings went to Limna’s treatments and surgery.

Unfortunately, they find themselves in a dire financial situation and are unable to afford the necessary treatments that could save her life. She has always been a pillar of strength and support for her family, and now it’s our turn to support her in this battle.

Living in Guatemala, there is limited to no medical assistance. Due to their income, the Vasquez family is having to sell personal items to afford what they can for Aleyda. Although it worked for a very short period of time, it is still not enough to afford chemo, medication, and her upcoming hospital visits. Recently, the doctors have notified the Vasquez family that Aleyda has a 3.2 inch cyst on her breast and needs immediate medical attention to ease her pain.

We are humbly asking for any donations, no matter how big or small, to help cover the costs of her medical treatments. My family and I are doing our best to contribute to the Vasquez family; however, it is simply not enough and we want to do more someway somehow. Your generosity can make her and our world a difference and give Aleyda a fighting chance. Together, we can bring hope and healing to a wonderful woman who means so much to us.

Me dirijo a ustedes con gran pesar y una súplica de ayuda. A la madre de mi mejor amigo, una mujer de 43 años llena de vida y amor, le han diagnosticado recientemente cáncer de mama. Esta noticia ha sido devastadora para su familia y para la mía, y estamos luchando por aceptarla.

Nadie se lo esperaba y nos resulta cada vez más doloroso que su familia tenga dificultades para pagar sus citas médicas. No queremos perder a Aleyda. Ella sufrió la pérdida de su madre a los 2 años por cáncer y no quiere repetir la historia con sus propios hijos. Como cualquier madre, le encanta ser madre y estar aquí con sus hijos. Es comprensible que esté más aterrorizada que cualquier otra persona de la familia. Especialmente después de que una de sus hijas gemelas luchará contra el cáncer de garganta en julio de 2023 y sus ahorros se destinarán a los tratamientos y la cirugía de Limna.

Desafortunadamente, se encuentran en una situación financiera desesperada y no pueden pagar los tratamientos necesarios que podrían salvarle la vida. Ella siempre ha sido un pilar de fortaleza y apoyo para su familia, y ahora nos toca a nosotros apoyarla en esta batalla.

Al vivir en Guatemala, la asistencia médica es limitada o nula. Debido a sus ingresos, la familia Vásquez tiene que vender artículos personales para poder pagar lo que puedan por Aleyda. Aunque funcionó por un período muy corto, todavía no es suficiente para pagar la quimioterapia, los medicamentos y sus próximas visitas al hospital. Recientemente, los médicos notificaron a la familia Vásquez que Aleyda tiene un quiste de 3.2 pulgadas (8 cm) en el pecho y necesita atención médica inmediata para aliviar su dolor.

Humildemente, pedimos cualquier donación, sin importar cuán grande o pequeña sea, para ayudar a cubrir los costos de sus tratamientos médicos. Mi familia y yo estamos haciendo todo lo posible para contribuir con la familia Vásquez; sin embargo, simplemente no es suficiente y queremos hacer más de alguna manera. Su generosidad puede hacer que ella y nuestro mundo sean una diferencia y darle a Aleyda una oportunidad de luchar. Juntos, podemos brindar esperanza y sanación a una mujer maravillosa que significa mucho para nosotros.
