Support Alex's Safety

My name is Lisa, and I'm Alex's grandma. Alex, age 5, suffers from autism spectrum disorder (ASD). He is what they consider nonverbal, with difficulties in understanding social cues, receptive language. He doesn't understand the consequences of his actions, or the dangers they can cause.

Alex is experiencing a lot of "eloping episodes" also known as wandering or bolting. The term refers to a child with ASD as leaving a safe, supervised area without the parent knowing, and no understanding of how dangerous that is. He has no sense of danger, and he can't help it. He is very curious, and loves to explore, unfortunately that has led to him repeatedly eloping, putting himself in danger.

I am trying to help raise the money to pay for an 8 ft tall fence to go around his yard, so he may safely explore, without eloping and putting himself in danger. Alex is the most fun loving, energetic, curious little boy, and we just want to keep him safe.
