My name is Raven Stephens, and I am raising funds for my husband, Alexis Torres, who is currently being held in Federal Philadelphia ICE detention.
Alexis came to the United States from Venezuela and has a pending asylum case. He has been actively going through the legal process and complying with requirements while seeking protection and safety.
Just four days after we were legally married, Alexis was detained by ICE without warning. He was taken into custody suddenly, and I was not given the opportunity to say goodbye or prepare for what would come next.
We believe his detention is unjust, and now I am working to fight for his release.
This situation requires immediate legal action. I need to retain an experienced immigration attorney to file a habeas corpus petition and advocate for Alexis in court. These legal costs are significant and time-sensitive.
At the same time, I am managing all of our living expenses on my own after relocating to Delaware to start our life together. Alexis’s family is in Venezuela, and my support system is in Virginia, leaving me to navigate this process largely on my own.
Funds raised will go toward:
• Immigration attorney fees
• Filing a habeas corpus petition
• Legal and court-related expenses
• Basic living costs during this time
Alexis deserves the opportunity to continue his case and be treated fairly under the law.
Any support—whether through donations or sharing this campaign—means more than I can express.
Thank you for helping me fight for Alexis, the love of my life.
