A message from Alessandro and Aaron:
With heavy hearts, we share that the home we were living in—Aaron’s childhood home—was completely destroyed in the Eaton Fires. Thankfully, we were able to evacuate safely and to help Aaron’s mom and his 92-year-old grandmother, who is wheelchair-bound, evacuate safely as well on the night of the fire. But all of our personal belonging and the house are gone. Aaron and I escaped with a couple of bags. All of the furniture, clothes, personal items, books, family heirlooms Aaron had inherited from his grandparents, art, and so many other things we’d collected on our journey together over the past 11 years has been claimed to the flame.
This home was very meaningful for us. In the fall of 2023, during a challenging time for Aaron’s family, we made the decision to move in with his mom and grandma. It had been a year since Aaron’s father passed away, his grandmother had recently suffered a stroke that left her paralyzed, and we also had to leave our West Hollywood rental apartment of nearly a decade because the landlord was flipping it into condos. Moving into this home felt like the right thing to do—to be close to family, support one another through grief, and navigate these transitions together. We let go of so much to make this move, but we knew it was the right decision. Now, in an instant, that home is gone.
The love and support from our community over the past few days have been an incredible lifeline. While we’re still processing the shock and grief of this loss, we know we’ll move forward with the same resilience and love that brought us here. We’re asking for support to help us take the first steps in rebuilding our lives. Our immediate priorities include finding temporary housing near Aaron’s mom and grandma so we can continue supporting them, helping his mom navigate what’s next with her home and business both gone, and replacing essential items. Most importantly, we need space to grieve, heal, and begin to recover.
Your generosity means so much to us during this time. We are deeply grateful for the kindness and care we've already received. Thank you for holding us in your hearts as we begin this process of rebuilding.
With love and gratitude,
Alessandro & Aaron

Aaron was able to save their avocado tree in the pool. A symbol of growth and new roots.
