Hello!

My name is Alejandra, I am a student at California Baptist University studying biomedical engineering and pursuing a christian studies and american sign language minor. I have always had a passion for helping others and I am so excited to be given the opportunity to do so with such a great community.

This summer, April 21st - July 26th, I have the opportunity to Intern at a ranch in Southern California whose mission is to connect hurting children with a mentor and a horse to find hope and healing. During my 14 weeks with HPM, I will be learning life skills of helping hurting children by mentoring them one on one for 90 minutes. I will personally be building relationships with the session children, and be serving up to 8 children a week, who have experienced trauma. I will be helping the nonprofit in the daily chores of running a ranch with 6 horses, 8 chickens, 4 goats and a pig, and a beautiful black lab named Grizz. Also I will aid in their fundraising efforts as they operate solely through word of mouth. Their Annual Fundraiser is May 3rd in San Juan Capistrano, let me know if you’d like to come - it is also a free event with the opportunity to partner with them financially. The program is fully funded by friends and family, and it is free to the session participants to come for their 90 minute sessions. I will also be discipled during my time at HPM by the staff and the Founder of HPM. What an opportunity I am getting to minister to others!

I am excited about what God will do in me and in other people's lives through this ministry this summer. However, I need your help. I will be living at HPM’s rented property and needing to raise $2,160 for my living expenses. This will cover food and lodging. (That’s $154 a week) Anything you can do to help will be greatly appreciated.
