#FreeAlee
My name is Sailormoon, and I am reaching out on behalf of my family with a broken heart and a desperate cry for help. My dad, Alee, has been detained by the Department of Homeland Security — and we are doing everything we can to bring him home. Alee is more than just a husband and a father — he is the glue to my family. He is a refugee who came to America in 1994 seeking safety and a chance at a better life. He has spent over 31 years building that American dream with love, faith, and hard work. He married my mom, Brooke, in 1999, and together they raised seven children in a home filled with warmth, laughter, and joy. My dad works overnight making orthopedic bones and surgical equipment, ensuring that others can walk and heal — literally helping people rebuild their lives. Despite the exhaustion, he always made time for us. Every morning, he’d remind us: “Work hard. Be kind. And build a life better than mine.”
He is the definition of sacrifice — working nights so he could be present for us during the day, attending our school events, church services, family dinners, and most importantly, just showing up for his kids.
In 1997, at the age of 18, Alee was unfairly charged as an accessory, something he didn’t fully understand at the time, and because of that, his green card was revoked. For decades, he has fought tirelessly to make things right. He’s reapplied again and again and always been denied, but always told he could remain in the U.S. under supervision because he is the sole provider for our family.
On November 5th, 2025, everything changed. Alee received a letter from DHS requesting his presence at their office. He went in, believing he would walk out as usual, but he never came home. That was the last time we saw him. He is now detained at North Lake Detention Center in Baldwin, Michigan, a place 2 hours and 30 minutes from his hometown and sooner rather than later it seems, will be even farther, if we can’t keep him here.
My mother, Brooke, is doing everything she can. She works full-time as a registered nurse, but with six of the seven kids still living at home and legal costs mounting, she is drowning under the weight of it all. Alee has been the sole provider for over 25 years. His absence has left not only an emotional void but also a devastating financial one. We are attempting to be the strongest we have ever been asked to be, but we just want our father home with us to fill the house with warmth and laughter.
Your support will go directly toward:
Legal fees to fight for my dad (Alee's) release and Green card reinstatement
Travel fees and communication fees while he is being detained.
Financial assistance as my mother works full-time and deals with my dad’s case.
Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to bringing our father home. If you can’t give, please share this page. Spread the word. Send prayers. Help us tell Alee’s story.
Alee deserves to come home.
He’s not a criminal; he’s a man of faith, a father, a husband, and a humble worker who has given everything to his country and to his family.
Please, stand with us. Help us bring our father home.
