Hello everyone, this is a fundraiser in honor of my husband Albert, a loving husband, amazing father of 3 girls, a loyal friend, and amazing soul. One of the kindest people that anyone had the privilege of meeting could attest to.

This GoFundMe is being set up to help the future of his family. Albert was 33 years old when he was diagnosed with cancer, and being so young, he never set up life insurance when life handed him such an ordeal.

A couple of weeks prior to Albert’s last chemo infusion, he developed a cough, one that wasn’t taken seriously, and in the days before his last chemo infusion, he became extremely short of breath. He was still given his last dose, and on May 8th, he went to the hospital, where he was released on the 9th, only to end back up in the hospital on May 12th. He was placed on high-flow oxygen, but what was happening was something we didn’t know until it was too late.

On May 14th at around 10:40 pm, Albert coded for 7 minutes and was placed on a ventilator, where he fought for his life. In June, we were told after all sedation had been removed that he not only had horrible lungs that would not allow him to come off of the ventilator, but he also suffered an anoxic brain injury.

On June 21, 2025, at approximately 9:40 am, at age 34, Albert passed away peacefully in the hospital surrounded by family and friends.

Albert was the breadwinner for his family, and this loss came out of nowhere and was unexpected. So there was no time to prepare for his loss.

The goal has been set at $10,000, and although that seems like a high number, it truly isn’t. With all of the expenses that come with life, this will allow time for Kathlena to grieve and time to find a job that can help provide for her family.

Albert was a beautiful human. I wish you all could have met him. His life was taken far too soon.
