My son and I have moved 8 times since his birth. When my son was 2, I escaped a violent relationship. During the pandemic, I was laid off from my job and struggled to maintain employment with my limited availability as a single mother. We experienced an eviction in 2022 (house 6) and have moved every 12 months since then. We finally have what we need to no longer fear houselessness.

Our new home in Kensington will be our 9th and final! While I am honored for the chance to have a forever home for myself and my son, the home I am moving into needs some love and labor!

Specifically, it needs:

Radon treatment

Vermin treatment

Termite treatment

Joist replacement and repair

Waterproofing in the basement

Masonry work

Chimney sealing

Heater repairs

I have been saving up for this home since February 2023 and am short $4000 to make sure my home is secure and healthy for my son. He was diagnosed with asthma in September 2023 and was hospitalized due to low blood oxygen levels. He needs ventilation and waterproofing repairs to be top priority due to his health needs.
