On July 17, 2024 our 24 year old beloved son/brother Aidan, was involved in a hit and run, and struck by a pickup truck while walking across an intersection. Due to the high speed of impact, Aidan suffered one of the most traumatic brain injuries known as DAI – Diffuse Axonal Injury. He also sustained a broken tibia and femur, small bleed to the brain, laceration to his liver, and a fractured spine.

 

Aidan has been in a coma since arriving to the hospital a week ago. Like the first week, this week will also be a crucial one in forecasting his recovery. Today Aidan underwent a tracheostomy. We are hoping he will open his eyes and start responding to commands.

Since his accident our family has undergone immense grief. We have taken time off of work, driven daily to the hospital, and are mentally preparing if difficult decisions need to be made. We are currently asking for any donations to help with extra expenses we have already accumulated and will going forward.
