My name is Aidan Ring. I am 17 and working towards my Eagle Scout rank with Scouting America Troop 59 of Larkspur, California. Eagle is the highest rank in Scouting America, and this project is my final requirement. My goal is to raise $2,800 to build a fully furnished patio area for the local Elks Lodge 1108 located in San Rafael, California. The project will consist of a renovation of an unused area in the Lodge's backyard. Carried out over two days, the project will involve building a wood frame, ground leveling and stabilization, and backfilling with soil, weed block, and a final granite gravel finish. Additionally, a small retaining wall will be rebuilt, and two picnic benches and three flower boxes will create a nice 800-square-foot patio area for events and parties for the members who have given generously to Scouting America over the years.
