hi everyone, my name is naomi christian and i’m a high school student, performer, best friend, little sister, and the daughter of my mama agnes maria. on the morning of sunday, july 27th, agnes was on the way to church with her son and was stopped by ice and taken right in front of her own child. what i woke up to was a home, previously filled with security and comfort, now plagued with emotions that surpass the meaning of despair and hopelessness.

my mom, like the busy woman she is, goes on business trips often, so i was fine with not seeing her for the weekend, or even a whole week. but knowing that my mom is somewhere far away from us against her will is insanely heartbreaking, and “heartbreaking” cant even begin to describe the overflow of emotions me and my family have experienced these last few days. i’m grateful that she is able to contact us at a small price, but it is very limited and hearing her voice every day is not guaranteed.

i dont know much because i’m just a kid, which makes me worry even more for my mother’s safety. at the ripe age of 15 years old, i can’t drive, get a job, or do anything to survive without my mother’s guidance and support because she is the backbone of our family. i have hope that agnes will come back home safe and soon and that we can all eat dinner together in our household, with the same security that was previously lost when my mother was taken.

the one thing she told our family to do was to not lose hope, and i hope you guys don’t lose faith in her too because i sure as hell am not giving up on my mama who’s worked her ass off for the past forty years and built our lives from the ground up. i appreciate everything everyone has done to help us get through these difficult times, and i’m grateful that you’re even taking the time to read this. love yall <3
