My fiancé, Chad, and I are facing an incredibly difficult time after a traumatic event that has turned our lives upside down. While bringing in groceries to our apartment, Chad was jumped by four individuals. They pinned him to the ground and brutally kicked him for two minutes straight trying to steal his car keys. Eventually, they succeeded in taking his keys and wallet. They then stole our car, and totaled it during a police chase that ended with our car violently striking a pole. It was totaled. All four were detained.

We have not seen our car, yet, as it is still under evidence with the Detroit police department. When we do, I will provide photos of the excessive damage.

During the beating, Chad suffered injuries to his head, side, and face, and we are both shaken by this violent experience.

This incident has left us without a car and with mounting expenses. We are now dealing with medical care for Chad’s injuries, the loss of our vehicle, and the legal costs as we press charges against those responsible.

The financial burden related to this crime is overwhelming, and we expect to struggle immensely to keep up with our regular monthly bills and groceries while we work to get justice for Chad as well as recover emotionally and physically.
