Hi friends and family!
We have been incredibly lucky to build our family with such ease over the last six years. With the help of our dear friend, our known donor process was a powerful and wonderful experience, and we have felt supported and loved by you - our community - in building our family. Yet we also require legal protection for our family (especially in this political climate!) and Julia has to legally adopt Malcolm in order to hold full parental rights & protections as the non-birth parent in a same sex family.
We're here to humbly ask for your support to help us cover the financial costs (legal fees) of Malcolm’s adoption. The process in NY State will (hopefully) be easy with the support of a skilled lawyer who comes highly recommended from many in our community. But the expense is a challenge for us.
We are grateful for the support and love you show our family, and even a small contribution will help us take this necessary step.
