Dear friends and community,

Join me in Paddling for Inclusion: 90 Miles of Purpose

This September, I’ll be traveling to Old Forge, NY to begin my 5th solo trip in the Adirondack 90-Miler Canoe Race—a three-day, 90-mile journey through some of the most beautiful and rugged waterways in the Adirondacks. But I’m not only racing for my best time. I’m racing for inclusion.

This year, I have the privilege of teaching a truly incredible child—someone whose courage, uniqueness, and perspective have touched the hearts of many! Their presence among our school community is a daily reminder of why inclusion matters—not just in words, but in action.

That’s why I’m dedicating my race to the Adirondack Inconclusion Movement, a grassroots effort to advocate for and implement more inclusive practices in our schools and communities. This movement believes that every child, regardless of ability or background, deserves to feel seen, supported, and fully part of the world around them.

Every mile I paddle is a mile closer to a future where all children are seen, heard, and valued for who they are. This journey is for them—for their voice, their joy, and their rightful place in every classroom, every team, and every trail, lake and river in the Adirondacks and beyond.
