❤️ Our Story
About 10 years ago, Adam and I met in Oxford, OH while he was working full-time and I was pursuing my master’s at Miami University. After sending him a message about his beloved University of Kentucky Wildcats, our relationship started. In the first few months, we discussed our plans for the future and both affirmed that we wanted to become fathers eventually. Years later, one of our favorite roles has been being uncles to our nieces and nephews — but Adam and I are finally ready to actualize the dream of expanding our family and adopting a child. It feels like the right way to grow our family, and we have a cute corgi who is ready to be a dog sibling!
Where We Are Now
We have recently had our application accepted at Spence-Chapin, an agency that works to establish open adoptions in AZ, NJ, and NY. From the research we have done, this process will be a long one, but we finally feel ready to begin it with where we are in our life.
Having transitioned closer to my family in Phoenix and recently bought a house has led us to now take the leap and start this process. With some family nearby and others farther away but supporting from afar, we are fully committed to giving everything we have to the child who joins our family, giving much needed love and care.
Why We’re Asking for Help
However, as you can imagine, adopting is not cheap. Spence-Chapin has a fee for their domestic adoption process at $46,000.00 — which does not include the $2,000 home study cost and additional fees that will come up throughout the process. Having recently put money down on the house (which we wanted to purchase before we commenced this process), we are looking for help to give a child a loving home.
Therefore, in addition to applying for adoption grants, we are reaching out to our community at large to ask for your support in this financial and personal endeavor. We recognize that you are dealing with your own financial situations so the following ways are not only welcome but open-heartedly and graciously received!
