Support Accessibility at Wissahickon Waterfowl Preserve

Thank you for taking the time to visit this fundraising page! My name is Margaret, and I put this page together to help a local nonprofit nature organization I'm involved in raise the funds needed to finish making a wildlife preserve accessible to people with disabilities. The project is located at the Wissahickon Waterfowl Preserve in Ambler, PA – a natural area with a reservoir that serves as an important habitat, especially for migrating birds. The site is frequently visited by birders, but it has never been accessible to anyone using a wheelchair.
A raised-earth wildlife viewing platform was built this summer specifically for those with mobility disabilities and for whom steps are a barrier, so that they can get a better view of the water and wildlife. The most important part of the project still needs to be finished: adding accessible parking and a curb cut and ramp in the sidewalk so that manual and power wheelchair users can safely and easily access the preserve and platform. This will cost an additional $15,000, and your support can help close the gap.
Any amount you can give will be so greatly appreciated!
Will you support making Wissahickon Waterfowl Preserve a place where everyone can enjoy the view?
Here are some photos to help you visualize the site!
