Support Access to Safe Drinking Water for Nan and Gay!
Donation protected
This Pride Month, help support two incredible queer elders who have given so much to our community. We aim to raise funds to build a well on their property to give them sustainable access to safe drinking water.
Gay and Nan are a lesbian couple in their seventies who built a beautiful life together during a time when being out wasn’t safe. They’ve created a welcoming home in rural Washington called Wander Pond —a safe haven for themselves, their beloved corgis, and countless friends and chosen family, especially older queer folks seeking a place to feel seen and supported.
Nan is a retired social worker who spent her career caring for seniors. She’s also a gifted artist and one of the most dedicated and generous people you’ll ever meet. Gay is a lifelong carpenter, a passionate cook, and a powerful singer—known for fixing everything herself and building community wherever she goes.
For over 30 years, they’ve hauled in all of their drinking water by hand. But now, due to age, that labor has become unsafe for Nan and Gay. To remain in the home they love and with the community they have worked so hard to create, they urgently need a well and a working water system.
Your donation will go directly toward building a safe, functional well system so they can stay in their home with dignity and comfort.
Please give what you can and share their story. Every contribution helps to ensure that Gay and Nan can continue living in the sanctuary they built—a place where queer joy, love, and resilience shine.
