Fuel Aable’s Journey: Car for surgeries and appts

Hello, my name is Christina, and I am the full-time caregiver and proud grandparent of my sweet grandson, Aable who is 11 months. Aable was born with a cleft lip and cleft palate. From the very beginning, he has shown incredible strength and resilience. He’s currently under the care of an amazing team of specialists at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) — receiving life-changing surgeries, therapies, and support to help him grow and thrive. He has already undergone his first surgery to close his lip and his team did an amazing job! He has his forever smile. He will be having his second surgery to close his soft palate inside of his mouth very soon.

Right now, we’re facing a serious challenge: our only vehicle is on the verge of breaking down. The engine is failing, making loud noises. I got it checked out by two trustworthy mechanics and repairs would cost more than the car is worth. Without a reliable car, getting Aable to CHLA for his appointments, surgeries, and follow-ups is at risk.

I also need transportation to get to work and to take Aable to his language immersion daycare — a critical part of helping him develop speech and communication skills alongside his medical treatment.
