Hello! I never thought I’d have to create a GoFundMe for anything so this is quite humiliating. My husband and I were both in the Army, I got out last year and my husband is getting out this year in just 5 days. We also have 2 lovely children; 1 son who is almost 2 and a daughter who is only 2 months old.

Because my husbands active duty ends in 5 days; we have to move from California to West Virginia this Friday night and we unfortunately do not have the funds to either fly or drive. I’ve sold everything dear and near to my heart just to try to afford things we’d need and have to do for this trip and no longer have anything else to sell. Most of the money we’d get from selling things, doing odd jobs, and bi-weekly paychecks would have to go towards providing for our children and bills so it’s been tough trying to get everything done for this trip. The military does not pay well, regardless of what everyone outside (and inside) thinks, so we are beyond stressed and upset trying to think about how we’re going to be able to drive almost 2500 miles with the money we have right now.

as of right now, we could probably only afford 2 stops for gas and maybe a meal and it’s genuinely the most stressed we’ve ever been financially. Even if we wanted to fly to make it easier on us, the military will not ship our car so we have no other choice but to drive across the country. We’ve been trying so hard to get everything needed but with all the money we have to pay just to leave this base, it has become extremely frustrating and upsetting.

Do not feel like you have to donate, I totally understand this is a different type of situation than most on this site. This is a last cry for help and it’s the most humiliating thing I have ever done as I hate asking for help. Any donations will be greatly appreciated and will go towards this move to ensure our family makes it to the other side of the country as safe and as quick as possible.
