Support a Single Mother from cancer to recovery

Donation protected
Imagine standing at the brink, faced with a life-altering diagnosis, and knowing that each day is a battle—not only for survival but to remain present for your children. My name is Kemi, and I’m a single mother to three beautiful children who are my world, and I’m asking for your help not just for me but for them.

In 2021, as the world began to reopen after lockdown, my own life closed in on me. I found a lump in my breast, and the doctors told me it was inoperable. I chose not to undergo chemotherapy, embracing alternative ways to fight, guided by faith, and supported by friends and family. Every day since has been a struggle, but I’m fighting with all I have to give my children a safe, stable home filled with love.

Then came another painful chapter. From June to August 2024, I was bed-bound in the end-of-life unit at Manchester Royal Infirmary, with my family and friends fearing the worst. But I made it through, thanks to God, the incredible NHS staff, and my neighbours, who became like family, stepping up in ways I could never repay. They cooked, cared for my children, and brought light to some of our darkest days. Their support gave me the strength to return home, determined to continue my battle not just in a hospital bed but in a place where my children can feel close to me.

I am a woman who has always rolled up my sleeves and gotten on with things, but this experience has been deeply humbling. Having to depend on others for even the simplest tasks, day by day, has been a new reality for me. My children have gone through so much, seeing me in a new light where I depend on them for help. Honestly, I close my eyes just hoping and praying for the end of this nightmare, dreaming of a time when we can return to living our normal lives.

Right now, though, our home isn’t the sanctuary it needs to be for this journey. The house has fallen into disrepair, filled with reminders of how fragile life is. I'm sleeping on an airbed that worsens my pain; my children are sleeping on the floor, lacking the beds and simple comforts every child deserves. Our kitchen is outdated and unsafe, making it difficult to prepare meals for us. The bathroom and other areas are difficult to use given my mobility challenges. Even the downstairs flooring is in disrepair, and we need a new sofa and radiator to create a warm, comforting living room space. We lack a dining table and chairs where we can sit together as a family for meals and moments that bring us closer. *On top of all that, I've fallen behind on bill payments, ending up with mounting debts.*

Additionally, our car—a lifeline for appointments, errands, and essential trips—needs urgent repairs totalling £650. Reliable transportation is critical, especially with the challenges we face, and this repair will allow me to have some independence.

I’m humbly asking for your help to raise £20,000 to transform our home into the safe haven we need. Here’s what your support would help us achieve:

- **A new kitchen** that’s safe and functional, allowing me to cook healthy meals for my children.

- wardrobes, and drawers for my children**,

- **New bathroom** that is accessible, allowing me to move more safely and comfortably.

- **A new sofa and radiator for the living room**, making it a warm, inviting space where we can spend time together.

- **A dining table and chairs**, creating a place where we can share meals, memories, and togetherness as a family.

- **Downstairs flooring** to make daily movement safer.

- **New blinds for the whole house**, helping create privacy and comfort.

- **Outside cleaning and garden work**, with landscaping and a shed to create a welcoming space for my children to play.

- **Car repairs**, restoring our essential transportation for hospital appointments, errands, and the everyday needs of our family.

This renovation isn’t just about bricks and furniture, it’s about giving us a space where I can rest, heal, and stay present for my children. Every donation, big or small, is a step closer to a home where healing can happen and where my children can know the peace of having their mother close.

Please consider being part of our journey. Whether it’s through a donation, sharing this with others, or simply holding us in your thoughts, every gesture is a light in our lives. Let’s create this safe haven together, a place of strength, peace, and hope for our futures.

With all my heart, thank you for helping us take this next step.
Lots of Love
