Single mom raising a teenage son, here. We just moved to a one bedroom apartment to be closer to my son’s high school. I built a room for my son reading the specifications of the lease to make sure I wasn’t violating anything, but the current landlord only wants fabric or plastic partitions to be used. I would like my son to have his own real room since I can’t even use book shelves to line it out.

We have been living on farms for the past 5 years so that means I don’t have a documented rental history. We got approved for this dream two bedroom but now on top of rent, I need to pay a 2k deposit. And on top of it, we have to move out on my birthday.
