Help Me Protect and Provide for My Family During This Financial Crisis

Reaching out for support is not easy, but I am doing so during an unexpectedly challenging legal chapter for my family.

I am a single parent to two daughters and the legal guardian of my niece. In addition to working full-time, I am a full-time caregiver for multiple medically vulnerable family members. Every day, my responsibility is to ensure that those who depend on me receive the medical care, therapy, and stability they need to live safely and securely. I maintain structured routines that support school, healthcare, and a stable home environment, coordinating ongoing medical appointments alongside regular work and school schedules.

I currently care for:

Two children who require ongoing therapy, one with complex medical needs

My niece, who depends on me for daily medical care

My stepfather, whose health requires consistent medical attention

In 2025, I was required to re-engage in divorce, custody, and child support proceedings that were believed to be fully resolved in 2022. Due to procedural issues outside my control, these matters are now being revisited, creating unanticipated legal expenses that were not part of our family’s planning. Reopening this chapter has also brought emotional strain, as it requires revisiting experiences I believed were behind us—an impact I am mindful of not only for myself, but for the children in my care.

At the same time, one of the children will be undergoing a major medical procedure with a lengthy recovery period, further increasing the need for stability, careful planning, and consistent care at home.

While I continue to meet my responsibilities both at work and as a caregiver, the cost of securing proper legal representation has created a temporary but significant financial challenge. Qualified legal counsel is essential to protect custody arrangements, financial security, and the overall stability of my household as these matters move forward.
