Dear Family and Friends,
I’m reaching out on behalf of my father, Eddie Casares, who has been incarcerated for the past 21 years due to an incident that occurred during a very dark time in his life. In his early 20s, he faced overwhelming challenges and spent much of his time trying to cope, which ultimately cost him 21 years of freedom. The incident resulted from him defending himself, and I truly believe my father does not deserve to spend the rest of his life in prison.
During his time in prison, my father has overcome significant challenges. He has earned numerous certificates representing his growth and achievements. He is now a licensed therapist, helping other inmates with their struggles, including addiction and depression. He has also assisted many individuals in withdrawing from thoughts of suicide. My father keeps himself engaged through classes and peer support, making a positive impact on those around him.
I know that if my father were given a second chance at freedom, he would not take it for granted. With new laws being passed, he now has a chance to regain his life. I am hoping to raise funds to cover the legal expenses necessary to begin the process of securing his release.
If you’re able to donate or share, every little bit helps, and your kindness will be deeply appreciated.
Thank you for your support.
I am also accepting donations through Zelle to avoid paying fees.
