Support a pregnant mom and family in crisis in Minneapolis

Hi friends,

I am trying to raise money for some very dear friends of mine who have been deeply affected by the current situation in Minneapolis, Minnesota. For their protection, I won’t be sharing any identifying information. What I can share is that they are some of the most beautiful, loving people I have ever met.

There is a mom who is 38—almost 39—weeks pregnant as of today (1/18/26), her husband, their young daughter, and also her mother, sister, and two more young children all living in the same home. They have been unable to safely leave the house to work. Their home is in the middle of the chaos and very close to several ICE incidents that have made international news.

I’ve been helping this family by delivering groceries, helping coordinate medical care for mom and baby, and doing whatever I can. So far, our community has helped raise $2,000 and an infant car seat, and we are beyond grateful for that. Truly. Thank you.

But we are not out of the woods yet.

They still need help with groceries, rent, and basic necessities. We are also in panic mode trying to prepare for this baby. We need infant clothes and baby items. She had only been able to buy a few outfits, and we just realized they were the wrong size.

If you are able to donate even a small amount, it would make a huge difference.

Things feel so dark and scary right now. And yet, I am so proud of our community for coming together—even in subzero temperatures—to support each other.

I’ve been through a lot in my life, and I know many of you have too. If I’ve learned anything, it’s that when you are in a scary, unknown place, it’s the people who share their light and compassion that get you through. This family has always shared their light with me. Now it’s my turn.

So if you have any light to share, please do.

The kids are getting so stir-crazy. They are out of school after everything moved online. They are scared. They are bored. They are literally sitting in the dark, keeping the lights off out of fear. At night, they don’t sleep. They listen to sirens, helicopters, drones, whistles, and shouting.

It breaks my heart.

If you are part of a local mutual aid group and willing to help in person—especially with helping mom, dad, and baby get home safely from the hospital in the coming days—please reach out to me.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

If you can’t donate, please share.

If you can donate, thank you.

If you can show up in any way, thank you.

Stay safe.

Stay connected.

Take care of each other.

Watch out for your neighbors.
