Seattle has always been a place where innovation, education, and cultural exchange come together. We founded Japan Seattle ABC Network to strengthen that spirit — by creating a welcoming space where Japanese residents, visitors, and learners can connect meaningfully with the people, businesses, and stories that make Seattle so special.

We are a newly formed nonprofit organization, currently in the process of applying for 501(c)(3) status, and we’re getting a head start on fundraising to begin building a solid foundation for our programs and community support.

Our mission is to foster meaningful connections between Seattle’s local communities and individuals with ties to Japan — including residents, visitors, and lifelong learners — through collaborative opportunities in academics, business, and culture. We strive to create a dynamic platform where cross-cultural understanding, mutual growth, and shared experiences enrich both the Seattle and Japanese communities.

Here’s what we’ve already begun doing:

Hosting community events for Seattle locals interested in Japanese language and culture, and for Japanese residents to learn about life in Seattle, improve their English, and explore the cultural differences in a welcoming and inclusive setting.

Supporting exchange students from Japan by organizing immersive experiences — including company visits, cultural excursions, and guest speaker sessions — designed to help them understand Seattle’s culture, gain global perspectives, and expand their educational horizons.
