This January, the Ktown Local of the Los Angeles Tenants Union celebrated an exciting milestone—launching our first ever brick-and-mortar community space in the heart of Koreatown.
Located just blocks from one of our most vibrant hubs of tenant organizing on 8th street, this new space will serve as an important gathering place for our local, where our members can meet, strategize, and hold planning sessions as we continue to build community and tenant power in Ktown, MacArthur Park, Pico-Union, and beyond.
And, just as importantly, it will allow us to host more events with and for the larger community—organized both by our local and by the many groups we collaborate with.
In the coming months, we’ll be launching a full slate of public programming, from know-your-rights trainings and political education sessions to cultural events, movie screenings, food distributions, workshops, language exchanges, and more.
A brick-and-mortar community space will be a game changer not just for our organizing but for the neighborhood itself. Our members are the ones who labor, care for, and fill Koreatown with life, and this small space will be a stronghold against fascist violence and all forms of displacement as our organizing continues to grow.
A dedicated space is also a significant financial responsibility, and now, we are asking for YOUR help to make sure this new project can grow and thrive. Donate TODAY to help support and grow our new space, so that it can help us build tenant power in Ktown and beyond!
