Help a Mother in Debt and Distress ❤️

Donation protected
As salaamu alaikum,

I am writing to call out to community members to support a South King County sister who is currently suffering from crippling debt left in her name due to financial abuse and unexpected circumstances. She is currently looking to settle immediate overdue housing and utility bills from the last 4 months, housing repair bills including window, wall and kitchen damage from abuse, as well as one emergency medical bill.

She is a single mother and the primary caretaker and provider for her children.

At current, the circumstances leave her under significant duress and the resulting stress and anxiety have impacted her ability to properly function at home and work. She is at risk of her current (2) part time jobs being impacted due to being the only caretaker for her children and often having to respond to their needs or drop shifts due to a lack of support and childcare. She is unable to hold a full time role due to the same reasons, hence her taking on more flexible part time jobs.

If we are able to help her get out of her financial debt, she can better focus on her children's immediate needs, afford some additional primary childcare, and situate her mental and physical health.

We have calculated her immediate needs and most pressing overdue payments to a total of a little over $13,000 USD. Donations will be used to cover her overdue rent payments, belated housing repair costs including broken windows, utility bills, and medical costs.

As it is the month of Ramadan, channel some of your generosity to this sister in need. Any amount will help. Allah helps those who help others, and as the Prophet pbuh said: “The believer’s shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity.” (Tirmidhi)

The Messenger pbuh also said: “The believers are like one body in their mutual love and affection: if one limb is injured, the rest responds with sleeplessness and fever.” If a Muslim feels the pain of his or her fellow human being, and wishes the same comfort and good life for others which he wishes for himself, it is a natural reaction to give in charity, to ease this suffering. May Allah increase you for your efforts, and reward you generously.

Donate now to help this family and to put them at ease for the next couple months.
