A little over a year ago, my children and I were suddenly faced with an unexpected and challenging situation that put our home and financial stability at risk. Without any advance warning, we found ourselves having to fight to keep a roof over our heads. We lost crucial support when a significant income source was abruptly cut off, and on top of that, additional financial burdens were unexpectedly added, including loans against our home and vehicle that I was unaware of. This resulted in increased expenses and the repossession of our family car. Now, as the sole provider for my children, I am working tirelessly, taking on as many hours and jobs as I can, but recently, it still hasn’t been enough. Despite my best efforts, I’ve struggled to keep up with the payments, and I’ve been navigating a complex situation with the banks due to issues outside of my control. Payments have been disrupted, communication with lenders has been blocked, and addresses were changed without my knowledge, all of which have led to mortgage arrears and the threat of foreclosure. I am reaching out for help to pay off the arrears to prevent foreclosure and provide stability for my children. We have been using all available resources, including food banks, and every other resource available, but it just hasn’t been enough. Asking for help is incredibly difficult, but I am doing this for my children, to try and maintain as much stability for them as possible. Any assistance would be deeply appreciated.
