My name is Ziel, and I walk the path of Bahala Magti — “the one who trusts the unknown.”

This August, I am going to Hawai‘i for an intensive Manghihilot training, a sacred healing tradition of the Philippines.

This isn’t just a trip — it’s a rite of passage. My vision is to serve my community through ancestral medicine, creative healing, and storytelling — carrying forward the voices of those who came before me.

But right now, life has called me into the fire.

My father was recently diagnosed with a terminal illness, and I have taken unpaid leave from work to be with him, to support his care, and to prepare for this sacred training. This time is deeply important — for my family, for my spiritual path, and for the work I will be doing in the world.

I believe that this fire is sacred and ancient. It is testing my strength and my resourcefulness so that when I serve others, I will know what it means to walk through the shadows with trust and sacred surrender.

Why I’m Fundraising:

I am $400 short on rent for next month, and while I have enough to make it through August, the Hilot training and travel costs will be going on a credit card. Without income during this leave, I also need help covering gas, food, and basic living expenses so I can complete this training and return ready to serve.
