Hogar Montiel is a group home in Costa Rica that holds girls from 5 to 12 years old that have been removed from their homes. At the home, they have a very integral program where the girls are taken care of by nuns. They learn English, go to school, take music lessons, etc. Sadly, once they age out, if they have not found a family to foster or adopt them, they need to go to the government homes, and they could potentially lose all the progress they have made at this home. This is the worst case scenario.
We are here to ask for your help for a specific case; this girl is 12 about to turn 13 and she needs to be moved. She has found a family that will foster her, and they love her. They are both teachers and are willing to take on all of the expenses for her, and to give her a home, the only problem is that they don’t have enough space in their house to build a room for her. And this is a requirement for the government to accept the fostering and eventual adoption of her.
We need your help here building a room for this girl. Materials in Costa Rica are extremely expensive, and even though the laborers are donating a great part of the human labor we still need to buy all the construction materials. This girl is an amazing girl, she is smart, gets good grades in school, she is great at sports, helps around the house with the smaller girls, and her dream is to be a football player. She has everything to be a successful and functional member of society, but we need your help to make that happen.
