Support for our Dad: Moving to a Safe New Home
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
We’re here to ask for help with something really important, so insanely important. For a man that was my first true love. My dad. My 75-year-old dad is the strongest, most humble man I know. He’s been through so much—he’s survived esophageal cancer, lived a full life managing bipolar disorder, and still always found a way to show up for my sister and me no matter what.
For the past three years, he’s been in a home where he’s felt safe, but the costs have gone up, and we just can’t afford to keep him there. After a lot of searching, we’ve found an amazing new place that’s perfect for him and closer to our family. He’s been approved for government aid, which will cover the monthly rent going forward, but we need $6,000 to cover the upfront costs, including a $5,000 program fee and moving expenses.
As much as we hate to ask for help, we can’t do this alone. Between our own families and everything else life throws at us, it feels impossible to pull this together by ourselves.
I know times are tough for so many people, but if this resonates with you and you’re able to help in any way, it would mean the world to us. Whether it’s a few dollars or just sharing this page with others, it all makes a huge difference.
Thank you for reading this and for any help you can give. We’re so grateful for our community and the support we’ve received over the years.
With love and gratitude,
Chelsea and Kaitlyn
