Hello again, I am back and once again asking for help to fulfill our fifth annual New Years eve celebration, for an amazing group of special needs children and adults and there families. This started 5 years ago when a group of parents (myself included) started discussing how hard it was for our children with Autism, Down syndrome, tourettes syndrome and so many others, to celebrate certain holidays, When you have a 30 year old adult that is non verbal and could have a melt down at any time. Your odds of being invited out seem to disappear. That was the case with more than 30 families, we realized at that moment our children never really had a birthday party with actual friends, or sharing special occasions with people that they enjoy being around. Here was the real kicker. None of them had ever celebrated New Years eve. imagine that, being an adult in there 30s that never experienced the count down, the sip of champaign at midnight, getting all dressed up and dancing to the music that you love to hear. But the best part of all was that with a strong group of parents and help with donations we were able to create a safe, accepting, No judgement zone place for our special needs children to experience what so many take for granted. it was a huge success and here we are facing our now fifth year together and Oh Boy how this family has grown. Watching our families pull together, siblings, Aunts, Uncles and grandparents, joining in and celebrating together. These New Years eve parties have had such a wonderful impact on us all and we really need your help to do it again this year. We have so many expenses to make this happen. Last year we raised 2,500 and barely made it, this year there are even more families and the prices of everything only went up. Every little bit helps and on behalf of all of us, I hope you are willing to reach in your pocket and help us give these kids another new years eve they will not forget. thank you all so very much.
