Hi, my name is Norma Ramos. I’m a 34-year-old single mother of three amazing children — ages 15, 10, and 3. Recently, I made the hardest yet most hopeful decision of my life: I packed up everything we owned and moved from Massachusetts to Florida in search of a better future for my kids.

It’s been nearly two months since we arrived. With no family support here and my children needing full-time care (especially my youngest), I haven’t been able to work yet. We’ve been staying in a shelter while I searched for stability — and I finally found it.

We’ve been approved for a rental home. I’ve managed to gather first and last month’s rent, along with the utilities deposit, through sheer determination, saving, and calling every resource I could find. But I’m still short on the security deposit, which is the final piece standing between my children and a real home.

I’ve reached out to local organizations, called hotlines, and applied for assistance, but so far, no funding has come through. With the start of the school year right around the corner, I’m desperately trying to get my kids settled into a safe, stable environment where they can grow and succeed.

I’m humbly asking for help from anyone who might be able to give — whether that’s $5, $50, or simply sharing this fundraiser. Every bit helps and brings us closer to finally unlocking the door to our new beginning.
