Hi, my name is Lilibet, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart but hopeful spirit. My partner and I are parents to four wonderful boys—ages 12, 8, 6, and 3—and we’re expecting a new baby in just a few weeks. I’m 31 weeks pregnant and facing complications from preeclampsia and diabetes. Instead of preparing to bring our baby home, we’re struggling to keep our family together and housed.

Due to a string of unexpected setbacks, we now face lease termination and must leave our home by August 30th. Despite doing everything we can, we’re falling short, and we need help—fast.

What Happened:

My partner’s job fell through—again. He was set to start a new job, but the start date has been pushed back three times. Before this, he worked steadily for two years—until his work truck caught fire on the job. Even though he wasn’t at fault, he was placed on unpaid leave during the investigation and lost over $2,000 in wages. That setback spiraled into more hardship.

Our landlord ended our lease. We were on a month-to-month agreement, but due to rising rent and instability, our landlord said she didn’t think we could keep up anymore and told us we had to leave.

We lost our van—but got it back with some help. We fell behind on payments, lost the van, and then fought hard to recover it. Now we have to reinstate our car insurance by August 16th or we’ll lose transportation again.

My health is declining. I’m managing high-risk complications from preeclampsia and gestational diabetes while trying to hold everything together for our kids.

Help from friends and family is unavailable. We’ve asked, but most are struggling themselves—or simply can’t help. We've applied for government assistance, but waitlists are months long and we only have four weeks left.

Our Greatest Fear:

School starts in just a couple weeks for our boys, and we don’t know where they’ll sleep—let alone where our newborn will come home to. This year has been one hardship after another, and it feels like everything we’ve built is slipping away.
