I'm hoping to raise some money for a friend of mine whose facing financial hardship after a horrific accident. Her partner was struck and killed by a garbage truck while riding on his bike to work. Despite the horror of the situation, she's unable to receive any settlement money as they weren't married. She has a young child at home and her partner was the primary breadwinner. She's now had to find work and scramble to arrange childcare all while grieving this sudden and immense loss.
