I'm Scot Eckley, owner of SEi, a landscape design and construction company located in Seattle, WA, and I've worked with Pam Jones at SEi for over six years.
A few years ago, Pam's adult daughter, Nicole, was diagnosed with cancer. From that moment, Nicole fought her illness with incredible courage and strength, and Pam showed unwavering love and support as a devoted mother and caregiver.
A year and a half ago, Pam moved from Edmonds, WA, to the Washington, DC area to help care for Nicole and Nicole's family as Nicole bravely battled cancer. During this time, Pam continued to design some of SEi's biggest and most impactful projects while working remotely, balancing her dedication to her family and her work.
Nicole's fight was truly extraordinary. At the end, she traveled every Friday to Boston for experimental treatment—one of the only remaining options. On her final trip, her doctors were surprised she had the strength to make the journey, as her condition was worsening rapidly.
On her last trip to Boston, the only way Nicole could return home to Maryland was via a Medi-Jet, which cost the family $20,000 out-of-pocket—something insurance did not cover. Nicole passed away just a few days later, surrounded by her loved ones.
Nicole leaves behind her husband and two small boys, who now face the difficult journey of moving forward without her.
Pam has been a vital part of SEi for many years, not just for the work she does, but for the warmth, talent, and dedication she brings to every project. Now, it's our turn to support Pam.
