As most of you know, as of 11/3/2023, my son and I have been homeless. I'm trying to get the cheapest room possible to stay sheltered. The problem is, my benefits don’t begin until 3/1/2025, where I will receive enough funds to keep us housed until I finish a 5-week trucking course in an attempt to get a well-paying job and a future. But I need to bridge the gap from 2/17/2025 to 3/1/2025, which is 12 days. The cheapest room is $66/night. That would put us $792 short. The lack of security is having horrible effects on my son’s mental health and PTSD. But once I get my benefits and tuition for school, it will give me time to breathe and concentrate on my studies. It is imperative I pass my CDL permit test and trucking school as I do not have a plan B. Having 12 days of shelter will enable us to relax for a moment and relieve us of this horrible anxiety. If you could share with your friends, it would help. I know it’s hard for everyone right now, but if I can hope for you to just donate a small amount, it will add up. If not, we will be sleeping in a cold car, which is affecting my son’s health. Thank you so much for your help and support.
